U.S. Workers More Productive: Genesis10 CEO Harley Lippman on CNBC

Appearing on CNBC’s Squawk Box, Harley Lippman, Founder and CEO of Genesis10 addressed the technology talent shortage and the strain competition for workers is placing on the industry.

Finding quality talented people is a big problem but it can be solved, Lippman told Becky Quick, Co-Anchor of the morning news show. “There’s a misconception that you can’t find workers here so you have to send work offshore,” he said. “But, the truth is that there is talent here. You may have to do some training, but the talent is here.”

Lippman cited a study that shows American workers are 27% more productive than their counterparts in other regions of the world when measured on communication skills, innovation and effort. He presented domestic outsourcing as a solution to help close the technology talent gap. “You can diversify your risk by having work done in various locations,” he told Quick. “You are able to capture a larger pool of talent,” suggesting that by working with companies like Genesis10, access to technology in the U.S. can increase by at least 20%.
