Genesis10 Delivery Centers Care about The Community

Community Champion: Jacqueline Bertolini

Bertolini is Operations Lead Support at the Genesis10 Troy, MI Delivery Center. For the six years she has worked for the professional technology services firm, she has organized her office's charitable activities and events, which include collecting $20 from delivery center consultants who wear jeans to work during a week earmarked for the tradition. She puts the money toward the bicycle purchase.

Throughout the year, she also collects recyclable pop cans—and hosts another jeans week—and uses those funds to buy personal care items for the Troop Care Package Collection Drive at the White Chapel Cemetery in Troy each September.

"With so much sadness in the world, it feels good to do something good for someone," Bertolini said.

About Genesis10’s Onshore Delivery Centers

The Troy Delivery Center is one of six Genesis10 operates in the U.S., focused on providing onshore technology services through its delivery center model.

  • Creates meaningful jobs for technology consultants with long corporate tenures while supporting clients without a local presence.
  • “Imports” jobs from other U.S. markets where labor is tight or the right skill sets at the client’s price point are not available.
  • Establishes clear career paths and offers professional growth opportunities for consultants.
  • Builds local talent in markets by advancing professionals’ skills over time.

Origins and Expansion of the Model

Genesis10 introduced the delivery center model to its clients in 2009 in the midst of the Great Recession, establishing facilities in depressed technology talent hubs such as Detroit and Kansas City. The strategy then expanded to create access to talent in markets such as Atlanta, Orlando, Dallas, and Charlotte.

Impact on Workers and Company Culture

"As soon as we started recruiting and filling jobs, the response was overwhelming," said Nick Pranis, Detroit-based Operations Executive, recalling consultants who were out of work and perilously close to becoming homeless at the time. Others, he said, had been searching for work for months when Genesis10 approached them about positions. Initially the consultants joined the delivery centers with apprehension but have come to appreciate the employment, stable income, and career opportunities of their roles. They've also embraced the company's culture.

Community Giving in Troy: Gilda’s Club Metro Detroit

Continuing a tradition of giving back to the community, Genesis10 this year tapped the Troy Delivery Center consultants to select one of several charities it will support with a financial contribution. One consultant at the location, Steve Cimino, selected the charity, Gilda's Club Metro Detroit, which provides support and education for cancer patients and their families to help them learn to live with cancer.

Gilda's Club offers its members support groups, lectures and workshops, bereavement, social activities, and children and teen programs, among other services, with 100% of the donations funding these services.

Consultant Perspective: Steve Cimino

Cimino, who works as a Technical Project Manager for a Genesis10 client in the financial services industry, has a relative who is a Gilda's Club member. He said he is grateful for the "tremendous" support the organization shows his family, which is why he recommended the charity for the company donation. Cimino also appreciates the "fantastic" support he receives from his colleagues at Genesis10 as well as the flexibility the delivery center role affords him to help care for his relative.

Leadership Perspective on Giving

Genesis10's leadership agrees that Gilda's Club is an excellent suggestion, as many people have friends, families, and colleagues touched by cancer. Each year, Genesis10 donates to several national charities. Echoing the sentiment of CEO Harley Lippman—who, in founding Genesis10, set out to start a company that cares deeply about people, communities, and prosperity in America—"This is a small way of giving back."

What is Genesis10’s delivery center model and how does it benefit clients and consultants?

Answer: Genesis10’s onshore delivery centers “import” technology jobs from U.S. markets where labor is tight or skills at the client’s price point aren’t available, serving clients that may not have a local presence. For consultants, the model creates meaningful roles with clear career paths and professional growth opportunities, and it helps build local talent over time. Launched in 2009 during the Great Recession, the approach began in technology hubs like Detroit and Kansas City and expanded to provide access to talent in markets such as Atlanta, Orlando, Dallas, and Charlotte.

How did the delivery center model respond during the Great Recession, and what impact did it have on workers?

Answer: Introduced in 2009, the model quickly saw overwhelming interest from professionals who were unemployed or at risk of homelessness. As Detroit-based Operations Executive Nick Pranis recalls, many had been searching for months. While some consultants joined with initial apprehension, they came to value the employment, stable income, and career opportunities the centers provided—embracing the company’s supportive, people-first culture.

Why was Gilda’s Club Metro Detroit chosen for a Genesis10 donation, and what does the organization do?

Answer: Continuing its tradition of giving back, Genesis10 invited Troy Delivery Center consultants to choose a charity, and Technical Project Manager Steve Cimino selected Gilda’s Club Metro Detroit due to the “tremendous” support it has provided his family. Gilda’s Club offers support and education for cancer patients and their families—support groups, lectures, workshops, bereavement services, social activities, and children/teen programs—with 100% of donations funding these services.

How does Genesis10 describe its culture and approach to community giving?

Answer: Genesis10 emphasizes a people-first culture that values stability, growth, and flexibility for employees—qualities consultants say they appreciate, along with strong colleague support. Reflecting CEO Harley Lippman’s vision of caring deeply about people, communities, and American prosperity, the company donates annually to several national charities and engages local teams—like the Troy Delivery Center—to direct contributions that make a meaningful community impact, which leadership describes as “a small way of giving back.”
